Julie Stewart is a senior trademark paralegal with more than twenty years of trademark experience in both law firm and in-house legal department settings. She has particular expertise in managing large-scale trademark portfolios for major brand-name clients with thousands of registrations and applications.
Julie's work involves all areas relating to domestic and international trademark prosecution, including correspondence with foreign associates and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; drafting and filing applications; drafting and filing responses to office actions; drafting and filing use statements, extension requests, and reporting registration particulars; and drafting and filing declarations of use and renewal applications. In addition, Julie has extensive experience in trademark searching, analysis of search results, and conducting use investigations; monitoring trademark watch services; drafting cease and desist letters; managing large-scale global filing and assignment projects; assisting in handling international trademark infringement matters; and maintaining client databases. Her many years of working in-house for Marriott International, Inc. provide an expertise in client relations and a familiarity with the inner workings of a large corporation, which is useful in understanding client needs.
Before joining Kelly IP, Julie was a Senior Trademark Legal Assistant at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in Washington, D.C.
Julie earned her B.A. in Communications at the University of Maryland, College Park.
