Kelly IP Makes Impressive Rise in World Trademark Review 1000 Rankings

We are proud to announce that Kelly IP, LLP, less than two years since its launch, has been recognized as a leading trademark law firm nationally and in the Washington, DC area by the well-respected publication World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR 1000).  WTR 1000 has also ranked four of the firm’s attorneys as leaders in the field.

Kelly IP was recognized as one of the top 3 firms for 2015 in the Washington, DC area in two major categories—trademark enforcement and litigation, and trademark prosecution and strategy. Kelly IP also entered the WTR 1000 national rankings as one of the top 27 trademark firms in the country.

The WTR 1000 specifically noted that young boutique Kelly IP has fast become a formidable presence on the capital’s market” and that Kelly IP has a “very bright, result-orientated ensemble [that] is hailed as knowledgeable, practical and commercial.”

  • Dave Kelly was named one of the top 27 lawyers nationally for enforcement and litigation.  The WTR 1000 described Dave as “fantastic and practical.”  Dave was called out because he “is very thoughtful in his approach and thinks of the situation from multiple angles” and “his real-world advice doesn’t elevate law above business.”  The WTR 1000 also commented that Dave’s experience “lends unrivalled clout” to Kelly IP.  Dave was one of only seven “Gold” status lawyers for enforcement and litigation and one of only 8 “Gold” status lawyers for prosecution and strategy in the Washington, DC area.
  • Rob Litowitz was recommended for his litigation skills and praised for “his incisive take on complex contentious matters”  Rob was singled out as a “Silver” status lawyer for enforcement and litigation in the Washington, DC area for the second year in a row. 
  • Linda McLeod was recognized as “simply amazing” and “outstanding” and praised for her “unique insight into all areas of trademark law, thanks to her experience as an administrative trademark judge at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).” Linda achieved “Gold” status in both enforcement and litigation and for prosecution and strategy in the Washington, DC area.  Linda was the only woman to receive “Gold” status in both categories in 2015 as well as 2014. 
  • Lynn Jordan was recognized for prosecution and strategy.  She was “warmly recommended by new and longstanding clients.”  Lynn was named a “Bronze” status lawyer for prosecution and strategy in the Washington, DC area for the second year in a row.
